Wet cupping for men and women: privacy, comfort and choice

One of the first questions we're asked — usually by message, often a little hesitantly — is some version of: "Who will actually treat me, and how private is it?" Fair question. Here's exactly how appointments work for men and for women at our clinic.

Same-sex sessions are the default, not a favour

At Sincerity Cupping Clinic, female clients are treated by Sister Aisha Mejri, our lead practitioner, in a female-only environment. Male clients are treated by Brother Abu Layla. You don't need to negotiate this or explain why it matters to you — it's simply how the clinic runs. Both practitioners have over twenty years of hijama experience and follow the same consultation-led process.

What privacy looks like in practice

The treatment room is private and lockable — a detail our reviews mention more than any other. You undress only as far as cup placement requires, typically the back and shoulders, and you're covered appropriately throughout. The practitioner explains where cups will be placed and why before anything touches your skin, and modesty is maintained from consultation through to dressing the area afterwards.

For women booking their first session

Two practical points are worth knowing. First, timing: we generally suggest booking outside the heaviest days of your period — not because it's forbidden, but because most women find it more comfortable. If your cycle shifts and the day no longer suits, message us and we'll rebook you at no charge. Second, pregnancy: we do not perform wet cupping on pregnant women, without exception, and we normally suggest waiting at least three months after birth. Breastfeeding clients can usually be seen after a short consultation — mention it when you book.

For men booking their first session

Male appointments run the same way: honest suitability questions first, suction adjusted to comfort, sterile single-use equipment, and written aftercare before you leave. If you're coming after work, the clinic is open until 19:00 every day — the late-afternoon slots go first, so book ahead.

Booking together as a household

Couples and family members often book back-to-back sessions. Mention it when booking so we can schedule the right practitioner for each person and prepare separate single-use equipment. Each person still gets their own consultation — suitability is individual.

What to say when you book

Just three things: whether you'd like a male or female appointment, anything about your health we should know before the day (medications, conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding), and whether you're aiming for a Sunnah date. Book online on Fresha, or message WhatsApp 07552 540000 and we'll sort the details with you directly.

Ready when you are

Book online in about two minutes, or message us first if you want to check suitability.
